On December 21, 2025, the Russia Waste Paper Processing Experts Association and Chinese papermaking equipment enterprises held an in-depth cooperation seminar on the China–Russia pulp and paper industry in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. China Pulp & Paper Magazine, as an industry media outlet, conducted follow-up coverage of the event.

The seminar aimed to promote exchanges and mutual learning between both sides in the pulp and paper industry, explore future directions for cooperation, facilitate the wider application of high-quality Chinese papermaking equipment in the Russian market, and establish training centers for operating equipment manufactured by Zhengzhou Yunda Paper Machinery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yunda”) and Henan Dazhi Papermaking Equipment Integrated Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Dazhi Equipment”).

In-depth Discussions and On-site Visits

On the morning of December 21, the seminar officially opened in the conference room on the third floor of Yunda. Wang Shuhui, Vice Mayor of Xinzheng City, Henan Province, and Sheng Lizhong, President of Yunchou Technology, delivered opening speeches, warmly welcoming all participants and emphasizing the importance of deepening China–Russia cooperation in the field of pulp and paper equipment.

Denis Kondratyev, First Deputy General Manager of the Russia Waste Paper Processing Experts Association, also delivered a speech expressing strong willingness to strengthen cooperation with Chinese counterparts.

The meeting then focused on a special discussion regarding the “Current Situation and Analysis of the China–Russia Pulp and Paper Industry.” Andrey Gulianov, General Manager of the Waste Paper Processing Experts Association, attended the meeting on behalf of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. During the discussion, Andrey stated that frontline Russian engineers still hold certain misconceptions about Chinese equipment. However, with deeper understanding, these perceptions are gradually changing, and more engineers are recognizing the higher cost-performance advantages of Chinese equipment.

The Russia Waste Paper Processing Experts Association expressed its hope to jointly establish equipment operation training centers together with Chinese papermaking equipment enterprises. These centers would provide training for Russian technicians on the operation of Chinese pulp and paper equipment and issue corresponding training certification certificates.

Afterward, the delegates visited Yunda’s assembly workshop, machining workshop, pilot laboratory, and precision manufacturing workshop, conducting an on-site inspection of Yunda’s technical capabilities and production scale in papermaking equipment manufacturing.

Expanding Cooperation and Industry Development

The afternoon session focused on the “Development and Cooperation in the China–Russia Pulp and Paper Industry.” Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on technological development, market trends, and potential cooperation projects.

Andrey Gulianov introduced the current challenges facing the Russian pulp and paper industry in terms of continuous engineering talent development and knowledge transfer. He emphasized that cooperative training programs with Chinese papermaking equipment enterprises are of great significance to the Russian pulp and paper industry. After the conference, a memorandum of this meeting would be submitted to the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Yunda and Dazhi Equipment stated that they would improve multilingual versions of equipment operation manuals and supplement equipment operation and maintenance procedures. Both sides expressed the hope that, through training programs and data sharing, the market share of Chinese pulp and paper equipment in Russia could be further expanded.

Expanded Exchanges and Precise Matchmaking

On December 22, the delegates visited Dazhi Equipment for a full day of exchange and inspection activities aimed at deepening their understanding of Chinese papermaking equipment enterprises and exploring more cooperation opportunities.

Through thematic discussions, company visits, and interactive exchanges, this seminar established an efficient communication platform for both sides. The participants shared experiences, enhanced mutual trust, and laid a solid foundation for substantial future cooperation in technological research and development, equipment trade, and market expansion.
